Description:

Sodium bicarbonate is used to adjust the alkalinity and pH within closed and recirculating systems. It is commonly used in conjunction with Syncaine which decreases the pH of the anaesthetic bath, especially in soft water. Buffering with sodium bicarbonate will maintain a steady pH.
